The Moral Injury Lab

We are a team of researchers at the University of Virginia investigating moral injury and its related phenomena.

Our primary concern is to understand how moral injury occurs, what specifically is injured, how to bring about moral repair, and what the answers to these questions might reveal about our moral condition.

Our current projects consider moral injury from an interdisciplinary perspective, including: moral injury in contexts of war, in contexts of healthcare, as related to the global refugee crisis, and as related to systemic racism and social injustice.
